"There is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way "(Mahatma Gandhi).
I worked at a company that had among its values happiness. This meant that people seeking to be happy there had a space to pursue their ideas and share their beatitudes.
I remember we had an acronym for easy recollection of that organization's corporate values: FIRM. That was the word and the letter F was Happiness. I do not remember clearly the meaning of the other letters, but the first, the principle of all, it was "F" Happiness and it was unforgettable. It was clear to me that there in that company, I could find the meaning of my professional life. And during that entire time I worked there, I dedicated myself as if my salary were the President. Our values and beat it was transformed into an enthusiasm that permeated throughout the organization.
It is worth remembering that, in a simplistic way, corporate values are the principles that guide the behavior and attitudes of people working in an organization. When these values are different from the values of employees, gives rise to conflicts generated by the inconsistency of the feelings of the person primarily behavioral expectations of the company.
It is interesting to note that although the organizations were formed by people and the pursuit of happiness is inherent to the human being, happiness business is usually different from personal happiness. Happiness is much more business-oriented financial officer for the economy, to the market whereas the happiness of each of your employees is in personal satisfaction, individual and often transferable. This can be antagonistic and bring dire consequences, although values congruent between the company and employees are also not an absolute guarantee of success.
One example is that, unfortunately, that company had happiness as one of its values today is no more. Too bad ...

Ed, this song is beautiful but kind deprê. I think the biggest mistake is that we have to talk "pursue happiness" actually is the most correct dizersmo we need to "build this". Science has shown through studies that external factors (wage increase, a new home, holidays abroad, a new novel, etc.) account for only 10% of the level of happiness of the person. The rest are genetic factors (50%) and behavioral, we look at things (40%). Interesting huh?
Look at one of Mafalda comic strip about happiness ( http://cronicasurbanas.wordpress.com/2008/05/19/mafalda-ea-felicidade/ )
